Name: Jake English

Age: Almost 16 (less than a month away)
Canon point: After falling down from the elevator inside the frog temple
Personality: Where most normal people see a tomb, ancient ruins or a crumbling old temple and are cautious about the dangers that could lurk inside such things are what Jake English lives for. He loves exploring and adventuring more than anything. To him the best day ever would be a trek through a dangerous jungle filled with strange violent creatures, battling his way through them to get to some ruins that he could explore to his hearts contents and find all the mysteries within. Which considering he lives on what his friends like to call "Hellmurder Island", that's basically a normal day for him anyways. He's got enough energy to go through the jungle all the time, never really having to rest for long periods of time and never tiring of doing the same thing over and over. Because there's always something new to discover, always have to be cautious of things around him so he doesn't end up dead. And to him that's the best possible way to spend a day.
But that doesn't mean he's fearless. He admits he really doesn't like the monsters on the island, even running from one of them he knows is too powerful for him to beat. He sees no shame in backing down from something if he gets in over his head, but he tries his best before if it comes to that. He also showed fear when informed he'd have to fight his sparring robot with novice mode turned off, or at all really since it kicks his ass either way. Even knowing he didn't stand a chance though, his determination to win held strong and he fought the robot head on. Of course, he ended up badly injured as a result and lost pathetically easy but he still gave it his all.
If there's one thing Jake is, it's definitely enthusiastic. Whether it comes to his sense of adventure or his tastes in all sorts of movies he always gives everything his full attention and can go on about the same topic multiple times and never find it getting old. He's open and will share his opinions with any of his friends who will listen, and even if they don't agree in his tastes he'll still defend what he likes and nothing they say can change his opinion. But for all his enthusiasm and adventurous nature, he can be a bit lazy at times and procrastinate something that someone has been telling him to do. He stated that while building the bunny for John's birthday was his idea, UU was the one having to pull his arm to get him to actually work on it and complete it in time. And even when it comes to something so simple as Dirk telling him to look up what Manbro Bukkake Theater meant on Wikipedia, Jake used the excuse that Wikipedia was just too many letters to type in with his busy schedule. Despite the fact that he spends a ridiculously large amount of his time on the computer anyways watching movies, he just kept forgetting about being told to wiki it and used the first excuse he could.
Jake's also highly self reliant and responsible, even to the point of being able to do things that someone of his age should never have to do. When he was a small child, he found his grandmother dead in the jungle and his house was blown up immediately after. Not wanting the monsters to eat her, he burned her body and sat and watched it until it was just ashes so he could put them away somewhere. This not only shows his ability to make tough decisions but also his will to follow through with what he feels he's responsible for. And even after that, he was able to raise himself being all alone on a jungle island filled with otherworldly monsters of all sizes that could kill him in an instant. Instead of being down about it, his optimism shown through as he just took every day as a new adventurous challenge for him to face.
Because of this though, he lacks any real sort of social skills. Being on an island his whole life, only knowing his grandmother for a few short years and then being left to his own devices with nothing to learn from but movies he doesn't exactly know what tact or social protocol is. And in that regard, is also a bit dense at times when it comes to picking up on obvious signals. When asking a girl if she liked him and her saying they were "just friends" he went right into asking her advice what he should do about the guy that liked him, saying that he felt that they were meant to be together from the start. While she tells him to go for it, the manner in which she does so is clearly not her usual manner of typing as she's freaking the hell out and hating herself for choking on her once chance to be with him, he doesn't even notice anything strange. He asks her once if she's ok, and believes her when she says she is even though it's painfully obvious something is wrong. He just keeps digging the knife deeper without even realizing it and going on and on about the guy and not even stopping to consider that she might not be as ok as she says.
But for how dense he can be at times, he's also mildly perceptive as he was aware of his friends having romantic interest in him for quite some time. Lack of social understanding is shown once again as he has the "just friends" talk with two girls in just the span of a couple hours. Though he failed to do anything about it, he is rather open minded in the fact that he can fully admit he thinks about every possibility and has thought about what it would be like to be with each of them on a good number of occasions. Though not only proving open mindedness, this also indicates that he is in fact a healthy teenage boy with active hormones. It's implied in him stating he doesn't mind fantasizing about "possibilities" but also his obsession with spider girls and blue girls, even having a near naked pin up of a blue alien girl as his phone background.
On that same line though, for as open minded as he can be with some subjects he can also be rather thoughtless with others. When it comes to AR and Brobot, an AI auto responding program with his best friends personality copied into it and a fighting robot with the same, he regards them as just stupid creations and doesn't accept the fact that they are actually their own people with their own thoughts and feelings, even if they happen to be artificial. He openly insults them to their faces, saying how much he would rather be able to talk to his real friend instead of his friends stupid program that just annoys the crap out of him. Even when Brobot rips out his own heart of uranium to give to Jake, Jake's only response is "the robot is being weird". He doesn't mean to come off as a jackass as he's really sweet, shown when he's sad at accidentally killing something innocent, but it's just hard for him to accept that artificial things have feelings too.
Pleasantville:
The worst two years of Jake's life. So used to adventure and excitement, he'd be restless the entire time and more than uncomfortable. He's never even been off of his island before or even ever around other people aside from his grandmother, so he'd be uncertain of his surroundings and freaked out by it. Combine that with the fact that he has watched almost every movie ever and he'd be totally convinced that something weird was going on, conspiracy theories and the such being frequent in his mind. Upon realizing there was no way out, he'd try to go along with it in hopes that if he tried to make it work it wouldn't be so bad. But he'd still be rebellious every now and then and sleep outside in a tree rather than his assigned bedroom, trying to get some sort of familiar comfort. It wouldn't have changed his personality much at all, aside from making him more and more eager to get out of that place and move onto something better. He would have looked forward to Vegas, counting down the days until he was finally free to go. Because anything would have been better than that place.
Powers/Abilities: Guns are Jake's favorite weapon, almost borderline obsession really with how many of them he collects, and he's just as skilled with them as he claims. Dual pistols are his most used ones, though he's been shown to own not only hunting guns and automatic rifles, but even as much as a rocket launcher. Aside from that, he loves fist fighting, it actually being another one of his passions right up there with fire arms. Considering he not only fights killer monsters daily but also has a killer robot that was specially made for the sole purpose of fighting and training him, he's stronger and faster than the average human. Non fighting wise, he's rather good with technology and robotics as he made a robo bunny that was strong enough to kill a Queen that was supposed to be one of the most powerful NPCs in the game. And of course his sylladex is an inventory system commonly used in his world that contains two decks of cards, Captchalogue Deck for storing regular items and the Strife Deck for storing weapons that are equipped.
Prose sample: He was free. He was finally free of that deranged hell hole of a town! Jake wanted to be happy, wanted to be excited that this new adventure was laying out before him. But as he stared out towards the ruins of what was once the amazing city he had seen shown so many times in movies, he couldn't help but have mixed feelings on the matter. Part of him had been looking forward to exploring a real city that he'd heard so much about, part of him was mildly excited to get the chance to sort through all the ruins of it and see what he could unearth. But there was sadness there too, wondering what happened to all the poor people that had lived in the city before it became whatever it was now. Not to mention confusion over just what had happened to everything in his sylladex.
He stood there on a mound of rubble for what seemed like an eternity to him, having grabbed the bag he awoke with and automatically going to the highest point he could find to get a good look at the place, just wondering over the endless possibilities of what could have happened. All of his knowledge and movie experience running wild in his imagination, one end of the world plot after another playing out in his mind. Finally his curiosity got the best of him though, he plopped himself down on the pile and decided to see what exactly was in the bag anyways.
His expression shifted little by little, brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of just what he was reading. Confusion was there at first, he had to read it a few times just to make sure he wasn't imagining things, but that was quickly being replaced by a bright flush across his face mixed with a bit of abject horror. Finally though, was a grim realization that there was no way this could be some elaborate prank. Not after the two years he had spent in that place, not after running down the Strip to get to where he was now. At the time he had ignored the things he saw, simply went passed them in hopes of getting a better view at what there was around him. But reading the stupid letter, they all made sense. The billboards, the odd activities he'd seen, the overall feeling of something not quite right.
Jake's shoulders slumped forward, the letter falling to the ground in front of him as he fisted his hands into his hair. Slow breaths, deep calming breaths. Freaking the fuck out wouldn't do any good here, he had to figure something out. He was on his own in this, he'd figure something out. Maybe there was a way around it? Maybe he could find a loophole somewhere that would allow him to get by without having to whore himself out. There were so many people in this place, surely that Loki fellow wouldn't notice one single man not getting down with the dirty deeds. That thought made him feel a little better, that he could fight this system and win. Part of him doubted it would be so easy, but when was anything?
He figured if he sat and thought about it, this future at least seemed better than the one that Dirk had described to him. Being forced into sex by a strange god was definitely a ways above dealing with psycho juggalos for presidents or an evil alien empress trying to do freaky experiments to make humans conform to some weird alien rituals she had on her old planet. Sex didn't kill people at least, so he was more merciful if anything. The thought didn't make it too much better, but it was something at least. It could always be worse, and he had no right to complain when his friend had to live with something much more dire than this. If Dirk and Roxy could grow up in a world where they were the only humans left on Earth, far apart from one another even, then he could deal with some silly sex crazed god in an old broken down city.
And really, there were ruins for miles so if he needed something to keep his mind off of things there was that. Sure, a bunch of old crumbling buildings weren't exactly the next Tomb Raider series but it was something at least.
Additional Note: Selfcest will be more than easy to avoid with these two. Eridan doesn't care for humans he doesn't know, and Jake is from an entirely different universe so there would be no interest there at all. They have never met in canon and probably never will meet. Even if they may eventually (way down the line), both of their canon points ensure that they will never even know of each other.
